Among all the mandapams, the Krishna Mandapam, lying next to the Arjuna’s Penance is the biggest one and a World Heritage Site in Tamil Nadu. The beauty of the mandapam lies in the eye-catching sulptures depicting the popular story of Lord Krishna where the villagers are saved from the wrath of Lord Indra. The image of child Krishna is shown holding the huge Govardhan mountain on his tiny finger and the villagers taking refuge under the mountain, protecting themselves from heavy rain.

Mahishasura Mardini Mandapam
Mahishasura Mardini Mandapam is anothing stunning piece of work. It is a rock cut temple comprising of three tiny shrives in the inner wall. It is one of the finest examples of the Pallava art and architecture.

The Ramanuja Mandapam
The Ramanuja Mandapam was originally dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple was given shape in 640 - 674 AD. Six coloumns laced with stone slabs make the front of the temple really stunning. Varaha Mandapam
Varaha Mandapam is one of the finished architecture lying besides the Arjuna penance. The entrance is adorned with two pillars engraved with horned lion-bases. The cell is guarded by two gatekeepers.
